St Joseph the Worker
Parish Church

The accelerated
sprawl in the Bwieraq area of Birkirkara after World War Two
prompted the building of this church which was started in 1965
to the design of architects Mortimer and Degiorgio. By May 1st
1967 it was completed and in 1970 was declared a separate
parish. This church straddles one of the blocks of the town's
building fabric, so that it has entrances from two streets.
The
titular processional statue in wood was made in Bolzano,
Italy, to the design of E. V. Cremona. |
