ST ANTHONY OF PADUA CHURCH

St Anthony of Padua
Church

First documentary evidence of this small church which was then known better as "St Catherine's", to which saint it is also dedicated, goes back to the latter sixteenth century. The present elliptical structure was built in 1828 and has two altars. It is surmounted by a dome and a lantern which illuminates the interior. The facade is hemmed in by coupled composite pilasters, between which is an ornate doorway surmounted by an elliptical oculus window with a baroque pediment. A campanile rises at the back.
